Shock as Kamukunji Officer Shoots at His Colleague Who Arrested His Matatu

Police Constable Abel Musati of Kamukunji Police Station was on Tuesday arrested after he fired at a Traffic Police Officer on duty and aided the escape of a suspect.

The victim, Police Constable Hillary Korir had been deployed at General Waruinge road near Starehe Boys Centre.

Upon inspecting a 14-Seater matatu, Korir arrested the driver for driving without clearance from the Transport Board (TLB).

Korir boarded the Toyota Hiace and escorted it to Pangani Police Station for booking.

Along the way, the driver made a call to whom he claimed was the owner of the vehicle.

On arriving at Kariokor Roundabout, Musati who was in full police uniform and armed with an AK 47 intercepted the vehicle and pulled his fellow officer out of the vehicle.

He further ordered the driver to drive off as he fired one round to Korir but he missed.

Musati was arrested and disarmed. He was taken into lawful custody pending his arraignment.
